Ryder She and half the troop rounded up the horses, while Waylon went and put clothes on, and they waited until the sunlight touched the road they were on before she allowed Waylon to open that portal for them. He'd told her it wasn't necessary, and she stared him down, because she knew how the cold affected him and was putting her foot down on this one. Several of her troop had snorted, and Waylon, in the end, had sat down because he could feel her intent, which was that she wouldn't be going through it if he opened it, which meant neither would any of her troop so it was a waste of his effort to do it until the sun was on him. And so they'd waited until the sun touched him before he'd gotten up and created that portal, it appeared a few hundred yards from the pack itself on the road.
