Alexei’s POV.
That last month was torture, and I loved it.
Our punishment was what Ser had predicted. But before we got that particular punishment. Bane had us working with the other prospects. Cleaning, doing grunt work and I actually enjoyed it. It reminded me of my early days of training in the Bratva.
Dedushka made sure that no task was scoffed at and, according to him, it helped build character and it was to help remind me of where I started before I sat at the head of the family.
So for the first few days, we were doing everything the prospects had to do to earn their patch. Cleaning, serving, shopping detail for the women, working the gate and helping in the numerous businesses that the Vella-Ricci’s own.
Then came the most fun punishment — well, it was for me at least.
