I’m on fire tonight. The atmosphere in Devil In The Dark is electric, it sizzles under my skin. I serve customer after customer, smile, chat, and laugh.
But deep inside, the conversation with my mom and dad is playing on repeat and I know I’m slightly off my game. But I shove it down, way down, and focus on what I’m doing.
Tonight I’m working with Tanya, Amy, and Suzie. Danny is around but we are packed to the rafters and at full capacity. Danny gave me my fob when I came in to set up at eight and showed me how to clock in and out. Simple stuff.
