“It’s hard to spend time alone with you,” I grumbled, settling on the edge of her bed.
Hannah laughed, her melodic voice making my chest tighten in the best way.
I stuck out my lower lip in an exaggerated pout, one I knew would make her laugh even harder something I loved to see. I’d never wear that expression in public, but here, with her, I wasn’t the tough, unshakable Cade everyone else knew.
Raising an eyebrow, I asked, “Why are you laughing? I’m being serious here.”
Hannah grinned. “Well, as you know, a lot has been going on lately.”
“Yeah, and Chase and Jace won’t let me have you to myself for even a minute. And don’t get me started on Willa. Always talking your ear off every chance she gets.”
