The drive back to the pack was quiet and sombre. Each of us was lost in our own thoughts.
Alpha Wallace was sitting alone in the meeting room. He sat up quickly when his sons and I walked through the door.
Jace went straight to the point. "Dad, we don't think the Ice stone ball should hold now."
Chase nodded. "If Willa could get poisoned despite all our security, and it's just us and the guards in the house, hosting the ball is like courting disaster. There will definitely be an attack. Whoever did this will try again."
