“D-dr Caden, wh-what are you doing here?” Aria asks, the fear in her voice palpable.
“It's not what you think! Freya made me do it!”
“What?!” Freya screeches as she drops me.
I'm about to hit the ground but I fall right into strong arms. Caden's arms.
I hear the sounds of feet hitting the ground. I can't tell if there's a struggle or they're running. But one thing I do know is that I'm safe.
I let myself drift away as my eyes begin to close slowly.
I feel him lift me off the ground and my consciousness slips away till everything blurs out.
I open myself and find myself in a dark room again. I'm dressed in what seems like rags and only the dimly lit lights in the room can be seen.
Suddenly I hear Aria's cackling and my heart sinks.
I need to get out of here. I need to flee.
