After leaving Damon's office, I couldn't stop thinking about his grievances.
The hurt in his eyes. The fear in his voice. The way he had looked at me like he was terrified of losing me.
His emotions were completely reasonable. He was dealing with so much pressure from the rogues, from Kade's scheming, from his mother's rejection of our relationship. And on top of all that, he had to worry about my incomplete bond with another man.
I needed to fix this. I needed to sever my connection with Kade as soon as possible.
I couldn't wait any longer.
Instead of going home, I drove to Giselle's apartment. She was surprised to see me but let me in immediately.
