Jude “Where's my mommy?” Beckett asked as he crawled up on my lap. Meg had been gone for 24 hours now. I hadn't slept, I hadn't eaten, I hadn't left the living room except to tuck Beckett in to bed last night. I had barely breathed. I found myself pacing more often than not and gripping my hair to the point I was sure it would fall out. I wrapped my arms around Becketts small frame, and rubbed his back as he laid his head on my chest. “She'll be back soon, Buddy. I promise” I said trying to avoid telling him anything near the truth. He didn't need to know that. He didn't need to know that his mother had been kidnapped. He didn't need to know the dangers she was in. MY heart was breaking just thinking about it myself and I was an adult. Meg's mother and father were sitting on the sofa.
