The words echoed in my head like a warning bell. My mind spun wildly…did he mean the way I’d saved him? Or something else? Does he know that I'm a Lunaris? Or is it about my real mission in the palace?

Hazel whistled low. ‘Well, that took an interesting turn. Think he’s talking about the fact that you’re not actually a harmless mute girl?’
I didn’t answer her. I couldn’t. My feet started moving again and this time, I was barely paying attention to where I was going.
Rion was coming. In two days the king was planning some grand, humiliating spectacle to destroy him in front of the whole realm.
And now this Cole guy…who I didn’t even remember saving…was dropping cryptic “your secret is safe” bombs like it was nothing.
