He was a beautiful boy, with every feature of the man I was trying so hard to forget. Five years. It had been five years since I had walked away from everything I had ever known. Five years since I had last seen Fenrir. The first year had been the hardest. I had nothing but the clothes on my back and a needy baby to take care of. We had lived in shelters, ate at soup kitchens. I had done things I wasn't proud of to survive. But I did it. For him. The second year, I had found a job as a waitress in a small diner.
