Nora hadn’t known what to expect in coming here to the wolfen realm and the city of Nightingale, but it was nothing like the human world or what Tessa had told her of where she came from either. Which she knew to be the outskirts of the wolfen realm, where it was rustic homes in fields or parts of the woods. With dirt roads, river water and no power at all.
This place had paved streets, wooden and stone houses and establishments, ceiling fans and proper lighting in the hotel and running hot and cold water. Until the sun went down, that was, then it was all oil lamps on the street corners, and fire torches around the courtyard and a stone fire pit in the center for wolves to sit around and eat and drink at night.
