Snow Moon Pass territory was hostile in more ways than one. A valley between two undevelopable and inhospitable mountains, it was the only way to the north side of the range. The wind, cold, and snow made it a harsh territory five months out of the year. We were at risk of flooding for three months, and two months battered us with terrifying storms.
But for two months of the year, it was nice. I’d spent most of that time chasing Kali, and the chill was already starting to bite me as I strolleclaim.7 the windowless house where I’d stashed Kali in my office.
Snow Moon Pass had been mine for two and a half years, and they had been busy years for me. As quickly as I poured money into this pack, I culled it. There used to be nearly two hundred members. Now, there were barely eighty.
