I’d planned to get an earlier start to the day, but after what had happened last night, it took forever for me to get to sleep. I couldn’t stop thinking about Trick being in danger from his own pack and how he wanted us to present a united front. I was tired of fighting with him, and I did want to succeed here, at least for my pup, who would grow up here. I wanted things to be safe for them, and if that meant I had to work with the man who’d torn my heart and continued stomping on it, then that was what I would do.
The decision finally lulled me into sleep, and it was almost noon when I woke up. A note was on the pillow next to me.
