Renee I looked back and forth between that slick-willy lawyer and Avalon. It was bizarre, her whole attitude and countenance seemed to have changed at the snap of a finger. It was subtle, and yet, I felt like I was getting some kind of mental whiplash. She was smiling sweetly up at the lawyer, but there was something off, something slightly forced and awkward about the way she was interacting with him. Unfortunately, I hadn’t had time to really make my case about working Bentley over for some factual information. The way her attention seemed to keep jumping around, I wasn’t sure she’d grasped the importance of the matter. Bentley took the chair that Josiah had just vacated.
