I was back in New York, and I was at home with my husband. It was perfect.
One of the reasons it was so perfect was that Stephen had pulled a great move on my mother-in-law. Overnight, he had all the furniture and belongings brought down to our floor. Evelyn came home to an empty penthouse.
We were still in Pennsylvania when that happened. I know it’s petty, but I really loved that he did that to her. Plus, all the decor in the penthouse was chosen by me and Joseph.
It was like my last connection to him. So, Stephen having it all moved into our new place made it extra special for me. Screwing over his mom was just the cherry on top.
