I came home to find my sons arguing over which one of them was going to marry their sister.

I hadn’t even made it completely into the nursery before the word came out.
Laura looked up from the floor.
She was sitting cross-legged between Evan and Austin, surrounded by tiny clothes, stuffed animals, and enough pink to permanently damage my eyesight.
“What are you saying no to?”
“Whatever they’re discussing.”
Evan frowned at me. “I marry Emily.”
“No.”
Laura’s lips twitched.
Austin immediately shouted, “Me marry Emmy!”
“Also no.”
“Stephen.”
I looked at my wife. “They’re her brothers.”
“They don’t understand marriage.”
“Then this is an excellent time to teach them.”
