Fuck. I know I'm gonna be shooting myself in the foot for saying this, but watching her walk back to Hunter when I'm standing right here just messes with my head.
"Well, tell her the truth, Hunt!" The words just lunge out of my lips, and they sound as desperate as I feel.
She turns to look at me, and her eyes are filled with so much confusion it makes my chest feel tight.
