I woke up later to find Doom in my room.
"Let's go, Woman. Doc wants to check your ass."
He rubbed my arm.
"Okay."
My voice came out tired and dreamy.
Doom helped me sit up.
I immediately winced.
A moment later, Doc walked into the room.
"Hey, Flower. Let me get a look at you."
I nodded.
"Hi, Doc. Thank you for patching me up."
Doc gave me a look.
"Not a fan of patching your ass up, Flower. Don't like seeing your ass hurt."
I lowered my head.
"Sorry, Doc."
His expression softened.
"But thank you for patching me up nonetheless."
Doc patted the top of my head.
Then he started checking me over.
He checked my swollen face, listened to my breathing.
Examined my ribs and bruising, and asked me several questions about my head.
