I slowly turned around.
“I am getting water.”
“I'll get it.”
“You're across the room.”
“Don't give a fuck.”
I stared at my husband.
Doom stared right back.
Then he pointed at the chair.
I looked at Valerie.
“Your son is driving me insane.”
She didn't even glance up from feeding Thane.
“I warned you.”
“Whose side are you on?”
“My grandchildren's.”
“Traitor.”
Valerie laughed.
Doom returned with my water and put it in front of me.
“Drink.”
“Anything else, Prez?”
“Yeah. Quit being a brat.”
I smiled sweetly.
“Make me.”
His eyes narrowed.
That look still did things to me.
“Careful, Woman.”
I took a drink of water.
“I'm sitting, aren't I?”
“Barely.”
