She woke with a start, sat bolt upright in the bed, startling both Rafe and Jack awake as well. As she heard Orien’s voice inside her mind, a full pack-wide mind-link alerting them to an invading force coming from the southern border. He was calling for all the women and children to go to the packhouse for safe housing.
She was up and climbing out of the bed, or trying to. Both Rafe and Jack had a hold of her now, and were trying to hold her still. “What is it Luci?” they both asked at the same time.
“War is here.” she rushed out and found both of them on her a second later, holding her down so she couldn't leave.
“Stay here.” she was told.
“I have to go and help.” She was shoving at them now only to be connected to her mother ‘Luci, stay in the packhouse.’
