Damon looked back at Maren.
“Your house arrest remains in place. You'll provide a written statement about everything you know, and you'll answer every question the investigators ask.” Damon said.
“And after that?” Maren asked.
“After that, we'll decide whether you can ever be trusted with security again.” Damon said.
He turned toward the door, but Maren spoke before he could leave.
“Damon, the man using your father's name knows something about you and Vespera. I heard him tell the prisoner that the two of you weren't supposed to survive the first stage of Genesis.” She said and Damon stopped.
“What exactly did he say?” Damon asked.
“He said the Alpha's son and the Vale heir were supposed to be separated before their wolves awakened. He said someone had made a mistake by allowing the
