GARRETT POV “I was... floating?” I rasped, my voice rough, barely there, like it had to drag itself out of my throat. The words came anyway. Had to. Her hands stilled. Just for a second. Then tightened on me. “I know,” she said, "but I dragged you back with me". And it was the truth. She didn’t call me back. She f*****g took me back. Dragged me out of whatever that was and shoved me where I belonged. My chest hitched again, sharp this time, pain flaring where something had been done to me.
