The Intercom buzzed again, sharper this time. The doorman’s voice came through, hesitant. “Sir he's… refusing to leave. He's shouting. Security is on their way, but he's asking for Miss Elena.” Damien's arms were still locked around me. I felt his chest rise and fall, taking deep controlled breath, then he moved. “Stay here,” he said, voice low. No room for argument. I sat up fast, sheets falling to my waist. “Damien…” He was already pulling on sweatpants. He didn't look at me when he spoke again. “I said stay.” He walked out, shutting the bedroom door. I sat there frozen for maybe five seconds before I scrambled out of bed, yanked on one of his big shirts and ran after him barefoot.
