Elena’s POV I sat at the kitchen table with my laptop open, a cup of herbal tea cooling beside me. My belly was round and heavy now, the baby kicking gently as I tried to focus on the job application in front of me. Sofia moved around the kitchen, humming softly as she prepared breakfast. Sofia set a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of me. “Eat something, Elena. The baby needs the energy. You look like you barely slept again.” I smiled faintly and took a bite. “I did sleep.
