Despite the spray that is hiding our scent, we stay to the stream. I know our feet are soaked to the bone, but the water will help to hide our tracks. As much as I hate Octavius, I know how resourceful he can be. He has trackers and other members of the collective that won't think twice about following his orders, no matter how horrific. Hell, some of them will even enjoy torturing me as they have done before.
Octavius will have no mercy for the three of us if we are found. After everything I've learned from Pearl, he wants my mate no matter what he has to do to get her. He won't stop until he has me. I have no doubt he will kill me now that I've defied him. I have to protect my daughter and mate at all costs. Honestly, I'm not sure why he didn't kill me when my mother died
