I honestly was shocked when Angelica told her mother that we would be sharing a room. I know that it's normal for mates to mate and mark as soon as they find each other, but I never expected she would accept me so easily. When we reached the room last night, we were both exhausted. We got Gemma settled and fell into bed together. Holding her for the first time was the most amazing feeling I've ever had.
I haven't slept so peacefully in all my life. Her scent and the feeling of her skin against mine was like a balm to our battered soul. She fell asleep first and before sleep took me under, I laid just staring at her. She truly is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I believe her beauty would rival that of the goddess herself.
