“Ethan, this is not something small. You cannot just throw the word betrayal without proof. If what you are saying is true, then it could change everything. Evidence must be clear.”
“Do you think I speak lightly? I watched, I listened, I survived when I should have died. Tell me, Ravena, why did the rogues wait a full year after your father and brothers had fallen in battle? Why didn't they attack when the pack was at its strongest?”
I faltered, my mouth slightly open.
“They waited, Ravena. They waited until our warriors were broken. Until your father and brothers were in the ground. Then they came like shadows in the night and wiped out everyone else. That is not blind revenge. That is planning. Someone guided them. Someone opened the gates for them.”
