The noise dragged me from sleep before dawn had fully broken. I could hear voices, footsteps, and the clanging of metal outside my tent.
Today was the day Astrid would face her punishment.
I sat up slowly, feeling very exhausted. I had barely slept because Evander's voice kept replaying in my mind every time I closed my eyes. But I pushed those thoughts aside for now.
As I stepped outside into the cool morning air, I saw that the sky was still gray and the sun was just beginning to rise. But the disciplinary grounds were already crowded.
