Evelyn The restraint that Alexander displayed in wolf form was monumental. I rushed out of the tent when his roars approached, and I watched as he tore through the temporary camp. I watched as he sent tents flying—but didn’t touch a single werewolf. Lucas grabbed me and started to run, but the snarling of Alexander’s wolf only drew closer. I assumed that he was using Marbell’s spell that was leading him right to me. I would have liked to see what he did to Lucas once he found us, but the pain in my stomach increased as Lucas sprinted on with me in his arms, and I fainted. There’s a moment, a very brief one, as I start to come to, when I don’t know where I am. When I don’t know if Lucas managed to escape Alexander with me. But then I register the hand in mine. And the bed beneath me.
