Alexander I sit in the dungeon on a stool. The exit through the dungeon has been resealed since I found out Evelyn escaped through it. Thanks to the prisoners she let out, she’s the only one down here behind bars. It’s just her and me down here. She’s huddled against the back wall of her cell, hugging her knees as we stare at each other. She doesn’t look scared or angry, just resigned. “Do you know what you’re doing in a cell instead of your room?” I ask calmly. If I’m being completely honest, I don’t know how to interrogate someone without being able to read their mind. I feel totally and completely unequipped for this.
