Being lifted into a van while in a wheelchair was something I never would've thought could happen to me. As the driver was strapping this wheelchair into place, I closed my eyes.
I can’t explain the feeling I had. It is definitely humbling. I know this is temporary for me, but what about the guy who has to spend the rest of his life in a chair, like the veterans that lost their legs after coming back from service?
For some reason, I thought of my friend Xavier, if he had not died, would he may be lost his legs and had to do this?
I don’t know why these thoughts are going through my head right now? Maybe it’s because I spent time with his son and I know that little boy lost his dad?
“That feel ok?” The driver asked me after got me strapped in.
