The Allen family graciously signed the rent-to-own agreement, even though Raphael was still in the process of buying out my share of the estate and transferring over those assets to me. I already had the keys, and we were given the go ahead to move in right away. My first step was to call in a technician to redo the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in every room, including the attic and the basement so that the old farm house was up to standard. He also installed the fire extinguishers.
The next order of business was to find furnishings. Jeanie’s scant belongings from her tiny apartment didn’t do much to fill the rooms. Rafe and Beth kindly donated a twin bed and some furniture for what would hopefully become Isaiah’s room. He also arranged for some couches and side tables
