There were some new faces around the barn, since Maria had hired some seasonal employees to work as trail guides during the busy summer season. There were two college-age girls, a middle aged woman, and a short stocky young man.
Many hands should have made light work, but I actually found the additional people actually made things more complicated. The phrase “too many cooks in the kitchen” came to mind.
Maria and Stacy were taking turns taking out rides, with the new guides tagging along to learn the trails, and the part time instructor, Dawn, was working out lesson horses. Chance had been turned out to the round pen to free up the stall, and we were using the small riding area for our therapy sessions.
