I tried to see the resort through the eyes of the guests who were arriving for our Valentine’s Day event. Sometimes, when you live and work in a place day in and day out, it all becomes hum-drum. You stop seeing the magical views out the floor-to-ceiling windows, stop enjoying the gourmet food, stop smelling the roses.
The place was decked out in red roses and white carnations. The smell of roses was literally everywhere.
Although the gala didn’t officially start until seven in the evening, our doors opened at noon. There were sleigh rides and ice skating, cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing. The dining room and the lounge were open, and we were giving regular tours of our newly remodeled facilities.
