I stood abruptly then while anger finally snapped through me hard enough to burn. “You wanna hear the truth?” I barked. The room went silently instantly. Fine. f**k it. “I grew up surrounded by mob money. Men with guns raised me and politicians kissed me father’s ass while bodies disappeared around our family like magic tricks.” I snapped. Nobody moved and nobody spoke so I kept going. “I left because I got sick of pretending blood money made us respectable. I changed my name, walked away from every f*****g dollar they offered me and built my own life from scratched.” I continued while fury shook through my chest and Roman’s jaw tightened. “I am not my father. And if you think I’d betray this club after everything that’s happened then maybe you don’t know me at all.” I snapped.
