The words stayed with me long after the call ended. Vincent Calloway had gone missing. Not dead, not arrested, not injuried. Just missing. I sat on the edge of Knox’s bed while the phone rested loosely in my hand and for several seconds my brain refused to process what Luca had actually said. Across from me, Knox watched carefully. “What happened?” Knox asked. “My father disappeared.” I said lowering the phone. The room immediately felt colder and Knox sat upright. “What?” He asked shocked. I repeated the sentence and this time it sounded even less believable. “He vanished after a meeting.” I said. “Jesus Christ.” Knox said dragging a hand across his face. That pretty much summed it up. By sunrise the entire clubhouse knew and nobody celebrated or even looked surprise
