"Maze?" Adrian asked.
"I'm here." I said and he tried smiling.
"They kept asking about you." He said as I carefully checked his injuries.
"What did you tell them?" I asked.
"The truth. I don't know anything." He said as his voice sounded weak.
Knox remained near the doorway watching the hallway.
"They hurt you anyway." I said and Adrian nodded slowly.
"They thought eventually I'd make something up." Adrian said and Crow appeared beside the door.
"We're almost out of time." Crow said and I helped Adrian stand.
He nearly collapsed before Knox caught him. Without saying anything, Knox lifted Adrian across one shoulder and Adrian looked surprised.
"I thought you hated me." Adrian said as Knox adjusted his grip.
