Nobody moved after Vincent stepped out of the black SUV because the man standing in the middle of the clubhouse yard barely resembled the untouchable mob boss I had grown up fearing. His expensive coat hid most of the damage, but it could not hide all of it. One arm rested inside a sling. Fresh bandages wrapped around his neck beneath the collar of his shirt.
