Three hours later Knox’s room barely looked like Knox’s room anymore. Photos appeared, blankets changed and books got added. My clothes occupied half the closet and then three quarters and then almost all of it. Knox pretended not to be annoyed and nobody believed him. Especially not him. At one point I walked into the room carrying coffee and found Crow helping hang framed photos. I stared and he stared back and then shrugged. “What?” Crow asked. “You?” I pointed. “Marisol threatened me.” Crow said. Fair enough. The entire day felt strangely emotional.
