Paige's POV For once, nobody was chasing us. There were no police cars outside Lawson Customs, nobody was watching the clubhouse from a distance, and nobody had discovered another tracker hidden beneath a motorcycle. There was only the lake, the trees, the laughter of children, and the sound of Jace complaining about his fishing line. “You've tangled it again.” I said as Jace looked at the fishing rod in his hands. “I have not.” He said. “You absolutely have.” I said and he frowned at the line. “It was like this when I picked it up.” He said and I laughed. “Of course it was.” I said and he looked at me. “You're supposed to support me.” He said. “I’m supporting you by telling you the truth.” I said. “That doesn't feel supportive.” He said and I smiled. “You'll survive.” I said.
