The next few days passed by in a very quiet, fragile bubble of pure peace and calm. The professional public relations statement that Khalid's team had put out to the news channels had officially done its job perfectly. The very worst of the mean online harassment had completely died down on social media, and I was finally able to return to my normal desk at the community outreach center without any annoying paparazzi photographers camping out on the sidewalk outside the front doors.
