Chapter Ninety Nine Venessa POV The sun was starting to set behind the rolling hills when we finally turned off the main highway and entered the quiet streets of the neighbor city. The air here felt different. It was slower, cooler, and filled with the sweet smell of blooming flowers and fresh cut grass. There were no flashing digital billboards, no loud car horns, and no crowds of people rushing down the sidewalks. It was just a peaceful, ordinary town with beautiful wooden houses, neat green gardens, and old oak trees that lined the streets like big, friendly guards.
