Chapter Two Hundred and Six Vanessa’s POV The air in the private dressing room was thick with the scent of expensive jasmine perfume and the heavy, nervous anticipation that always came before a major shift in our lives. I stood in front of the full-length gilded mirror, smoothing down the front of my dress. It was a deep emerald green silk gown that hugged every curve of my body, falling all the way to the floor in elegant, liquid folds.
