Chapter Forty Six The bright morning sun filtered softly and warmly through the thin bedroom curtains as I slowly stirred awake in the large, comfortable bed. I rolled over to my side, blinking my eyes against the light, and realized that the other side of the mattress was completely empty. However, when I reached my hand out to touch the white sheets, they were still warm.
