Venessa’s Point of View
We could hardly even wait until we were safely inside the front door of my apartment.
The very second the heavy lock made a clicking sound and the door was shut tight behind us, Khalid reached out and pulled my body hard against his chest. He held me with a powerful hunger that completely stole all the air right out of my lungs. His mouth came down on mine with a lot of force. The kiss was deep, full of panic, and packed with all the scary feelings of what we had almost lost forever earlier tonight. His large, warm hands reached up to hold the sides of my face. His thumbs moved gently across my skin, wiping away the very last traces of my wet tears while he kept kissing me. He kissed me like a man who had been trapped underwater for a long time
