Jake was up before Lyra again, needing to get to an early morning training session. He left her a note before heading to the door, pausing to take a look back at her. Her hair was a wild mess across the pillows, her face soft and serene in sleep. Seeing her like that settled something deep inside him. It reminded him that was here. With him. Safe.
