Lyra decided to go home after training to shower and make dinner for Lyle and Donovan. Donovan had, once again, spent most of the day at Megan’s, going over the journals, so she picked him up before heading to the house. He rolled up the ramp ahead of her but froze at the porch. “Hey, Lyr!” he called. “What, Donnie?” she replied, grabbing a bag from the car so she could pack a few more things for the packhouse later. “Is Dad home?” She straightened, glancing around. “I don’t see his truck.
