The next morning, I wake up to Effie clinging to me in her sleep. And Bear was snuggled up behind her, holding her tightly. As much as she tried not to show it last night, I know that she was scared. She was nice and quiet while she hid in the closet, waiting to hear from Bear. And after he gave the all clear for her to come out, she was still afraid.
