By the time they got to the hotel they were both exhausted. As they exited the cab he filed the receipt away in his wallet to expense later.
"Thanks for sorting the cab, I can pay for the taxi to the office in the morning," Alina said as they got out. They hadn't been working together long, so there was still an awkwardness when either of them had to pay for anything. Mike didn't mind racking up all the extra points on his rewards card though.
"Don't worry about it," he replied with a smile. As the senior, Mike was the more confident of them, and he was used to travelling for work. Alina on the other hand had only been with the company for a little over a year. She didn't like being away from home.
