I’m too late.
After several days of searching and digging into Pure Care, someone else found the proof before I did.
“I’m serious, listen,” Sarah says, turning her phone toward me to show me the news report playing on the small screen.
“This just in, Pure Care’s has been exposed to be a paper company- a company that seems to be fully formed and complete on paper but that has no real operations. After announcing the Pregnancy Protection Program, investigators found proof of fraudulent activity and deceit,” the news anchor announces.
Jumping up from my chair, I leave my things behind and dart out of the lunchroom. People stare as I run past, but I don’t care.
